MODULE E: TERRAIN ASSESSMENT & BASICS OF DESIGN
Overview
This is the fifth module of the 6-week E-Learning series Fundamentals of Community-Scale Hydro Mini-Grids. The module is developed in partnership with PT Entec Indonesia, with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH and Skat Foundation.
The module starts with an overview of applications and classifications of small-scale hydropower. It then dives into what is involved in site assessment, followed by presentations on basic design aspects of key civil works structures.
The module also includes an overview of planning aspects, initial steps, and methods to survey the head and topography.
