MODULE G: CLIMATE RESILIENT WATERSHEDS OF HYDRO MINI-GRIDS

Overview

This module focuses on watershed management as a key path towards climate resilient rural communities, in the context of community-scale hydropower — also known as hydro mini-grids.  It is designed to introduce core concepts of watershed management associated with hydro mini-grids.

The first half of the module examines climate resilience in terms of the water-energy-food nexus, the role of watersheds in building climate resilience, and the relationship between watersheds and hydro mini-grids.

The second half covers the role of Indigenous knowledge and stewardship traditions in climate resilient watersheds of hydro mini-grids.
